The top 10 best seller books for women list makes a useful guide to see at a glance which of the latest books are the most popular.

This makes it easier to buy books as a gift for Christmas, birthdays or any other appropriate occasion.

Women's books aren't all girly and romance. Some are serious pieces of literature that has perhaps been written from a woman's perspective which women can relate to.

All the women I know read books, and a lot of them.

While I like the so-called mens book authors like Stephen King and James Patterson, I can just as happily cuddle up with a Joan Collins or an even a good old cookbook!

The Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy have gone on to beat all books sales for all time.

I forced myself to read them, hoping for just an inkling of an insight into what makes a best selling book.

I am stuck on the third book, preferring instead to read something of substance, and still wondering why this group of books has sold so many.

The basic outline is of a sexually innocent but beautiful heroine meets and marries a super-rich and gorgeous sexual deviant.

Well, that is basically all there is to it.

I do not see them galloping off into the sunset, unless one or both of them changes.

The books are an interesting study of the most likely scenario from the female's point of view. Again the female is just one subjective possibility of what could have happened.

Nevertheless, these books have hit the jugular, as far as their target market was concerned.

A brilliant first novel by Diana Dempsey, Fallen Star tells the story of a woman who is about to get dumped from her exalted position as news anchor at a TV station. She is getting too old, her boss has one eye on the budget, a younger, cheaper model might suit the financial backers better. Her husband has left her, her life is falling apart.

This a book many of us can relate to, even though most of us have never worked in a television studio Natalie Daniels is a feisty woman going through some rough patches in her life, but maintaining a sense of humor that lets us all relate to her.

From the first page, this excellent book draws you in and holds you there. A great summer read!

Water for Elephants: A Novel by Sara Gruen

A must-read. You will love this tale of a young man who runs away to join the circus during the Depression years. How to Fight fat after forty has been widely critiqued with the general consensus being is that the advice offered by Suzanne Somers not only works really well, but has been life-changing for many.

Room:A Novel by Emma Donoghue is to my mind the best can't put down book of the year.

5 year old Jack lives in Room with his mother (Ma). He has never known anywhere else but this 11 x 11 room where they both live, and knows nothing of a world outside.

Beautifully written, this book will have you gripping your seat and weeping. Just read some of the customer reviews over on Amazon and tell me that you don't want to read this book. Awesome!

Ina Garten's follow up to her bestseller Back to Basics, Barefoot Contessa How Easy Is That?: Fabulous Recipes & Easy Tips appears to have been a bit of a disappointment for her previous fans according to some Amazon reviews.

However, there is no doubt that tips aside (i.e have two dishwashers) the recipes contaned in this book are delicious and relatively simple to make.

Cooks everywhere will love this book which shows lots of ways of utilising ingredients that all supermarkets carry which, with minimal fuss, can be used to serve up appetizing meals easily for guests.

Fans of New York Times bestsellers The Hunger Games, Catching Fire and Mockingjay that make up The Hunger Trilogy by Suzanne Collins will love this boxed set containing all three books in a beautifully boxed set.
