British Royal Family Shocker - Queen Elizabeth II is Black
87
The secret is out. The head of the British Royal family, Queen Elizabeth II, is black. When she was born, on the 21st of April 1926, there were gasps of horror from those in attendance. The fidelity of her mother, Elizabeth, wife of Prince Albert, Duke of York - later King George VI, was at first questioned. But it soon became apparent that the family's distant African genes had come to the fore, and so it was that Elizabeth was born black.
With both her parents being white, it was decided that Elizabeth would not be seen in public without specially-made makeup, secretly designed by the top scientific brains of the day.
Some would have preferred that a constitutional crisis be averted by hiding the child away, and telling the world that she had been stillborn. But Elizabeth, later fondly known as the Queen Mother, was having none of it. This was her daughter who she loved with all her heart, and who she had had difficulty carrying and who at the end up had been born by Caesarian section, and her precious first born child would have to be disguised, nothing more.
There was also the risk that the Queen Mother may not be able to bear more children, after her difficult first birth, although history tells us that she later bore another girl child, Margaret.
The Little Princesses
Both Elizabeth, who the family playfully called Lilibet, and her younger sister Margaret, were educated at home, obviously to try and hide her skin color from the world's eyes.
There was much consternation years later when the family nanny and governess, Marion Crawford, commonly known as Crawfie, published her memoirs of life with the Royal princesses in a book aptly named The Little Princesses.
There was great relief all round when it found found that Crawfie did not in fact release the information that the Queen is black.
Clever makeup artists have for years carefully hidden Queen Elizabeth II's skin color from the public. As you can see on this photograph, every detail in perfectly covered. This is why you will never see Queen Elizabeth on the streets walking around unless it is an official occasion.
She even wears blue contact lenses to give the impression that she has blue eyes.
1992 was the year queen Elizabeth II called her annus horribilis, being the year two of her sons separated from their wives, and her daughter separated from her husband. It was also the year that Windsor Castle suffered from a severe fire, costing millions to repair.
Less well remembered was that this was also the year when, on the 1st April, several British newspapers carried the story of how she was really black. The next day the story was dropped completely (on secret orders of the British Government), never to be mentioned again.
How can the Queen be black?
Another lesser known but widely documented fact online is that Queen Charlotte (1744 - 1818) was also black.
Princess Sophia Charlotte was born into a German Royal family, Mecklenburg-Strelitz, and was a direct line descendant of the Portugese Royal House, Margarita de Castro y Sousa, which was the African branch of the family.
Charlotte became Queen when she married George III of England in 1761 when she was only 17 years old.
Royal portrait artists of the day (photography hadn't yet been invented) followed orders to make her look white, if ugly. In fact she was quite infamously ugly.
Looks aren't everything. This amazing women bore 15 children in her lifetime, 13 of whom survived to adulthood, and, as an keen botanist, founded Kew Gardens. She was also the first Royal to live in Buckingham House, bought for her by a devoted King George III, which later became Buckingham Palace, the current Queen's official residence.
Queen Charlotte, the grandmother of Queen Victoria, also had a keen interest in America's politic and the ongoing War of Independence. Slavery of African American blacks was at its peak, and while Queen Charlotte was forbidden to take part in politics, it is widely believed that letters she wrote in support of the abolition of slavery helped sway some senior and powerful figures.
It is unknown how many previous kings and queens of Europe are black or have black ancestors. Most of Queen Victoria's descendants are still Royal figureheads in Europe.
It was almost by accident that Queen Elizabeth II became queen. Her uncle Edward was next in line, followed by his younger brother, Elizabeth's father Prince Albert. Edward was young and had not yet married when he succeeded to the throne. He abdicated later the same year in order to marry a divorcee, Wallis Simpson, an act that caused a constitutional crisis because the King or Queen of England is also Head of the Church of England who do not recognise divorce.
Prince Albert became King George II, and Princess Elizabeth became heiress presumptive.
While Britain is a multi-racial country, the people were not thought to be ready for a colored Queen, and so the fallacy that she was white continued.

Ah I suspected so and now you have confirmed it! Do I dare read about the Prince's Alzheimer's. I do.
This is so unlikely to be true that I would say witout a moment's hesitation that it's not.
Firstly, when she was born, they didn't have the make-up to do such a complete cover up.
Secondly, even if the DNA was recessive, it would have shown up since then (and before her).
Thirdly, there are some secrets simply too big to hide, and this is one of them...
izzy, so why didn't all the papers follow up? I'm sure it would have been big news. I mean Diana would have said something, wouldn't she have? I mean, she said everything else!
I thought she wasn't on goog terms the the queen? She could have tarred her with one wag of the tongue. So, why didn't the international papers get hold of it. I can understand a gag order in the UK, but nobody would gag it in other countries.
In any event, David Icke says she's alien - a grey. So, that makes her grey, not black.
Here's a picture of the queen as she really looks like. Here you can see, she is quite grey...
Is the truth out? A lot of rich whites in the south have black blood, and it's nothing new. They slept with the slaves.
you won't be going to the wedding then Izzy? :0)
Hi Izzy!
I actually wanted to go to bed, but you drew our attention to this and ... I'm going to bed as soon as I've written this comment.
This Hub is hilarious. I must say, reading the comments was almost as much fun.
'... Lilibet, and her younger sister Margaret, were educated at home, obviously to try and hide her skin color from the world's eyes.' This really made me laugh aloud.
A great read to go to bed on.
All the best, Camlo
Seriously? Well that is amazing if she is and I can say it certainly has substance. The family has always been secretive so I would not be surprised. I could see it happening she always appears to be powder white which is abnormal even a person with the fairest of skin. Interesting, very interesting. :)
Brilliant Izzy! Can't wait to see the merchandising. Oh and the Royal Mint special commemorative issue.
Good job they have slackened the rules on treason!
Couple of hundred years ago you would be hung drawn and quartered for this one!
Where did you get the pickys... or did you change them yourself!
I suspect this is just sour grapes because you weren't on the Birthday Honours List again !
Or was it that you're personal invitation to the Wedding got lost in the post ?
You do realise that in spite of Political Correctness the Tower of London is still classified as a prison for those that Piss off the Crown ?
If I were you I wouldn't hold my breath awaiting the big Buff Envelope with HRH Buck House on it with your New Years Honour either...
Like me the only mail with HRH on it comes from the 'Tax Man !'
Great Hub !
This is why she used to spend so much time in Kenya where she had no need to worry about hiding as a youngster! She was even there when her father died and she was pronounced Queen of England!
LOL..Funny haha !!
Beware the summons from Buckingham Palace...emigrate now whilst you still can
Sorry Izzy, but Leanman is right in 1952 she was in Kenya when her father died. At the Tree Tops if memory serves.
PS I think you mis spelled HYSTERICAL, without me specs on it looked more like HISTORICAL !!!
Really great article.
Izzy- wow that explains one hell of a lot of current history to me- ever thought of writing a hub about how Prince Harry looks like his dad?
Well Sophia Angelique, I agree with you, secrets can't be kept!!
Although I find that the trouble with secrets is, when I stand up and speak the truth about what I can see happening Such as; The huge Treasonous acts of the British Government regarding the handing over of political, legal and economical control of our Sovereign Nation to the foreign state known as the European Union, allowing foreigners to tell you, your children and your childrens children how to live your life's!! These traitorous acts are contrary to both Common and statute law, and that would have our grandparents and our great grandparents spinning in their graves after fighting suffering and in many cases dying, just to prevent such a vile thing!!
But I'm just a conspirisy nut eh, just dismiss my truth without proper study and/or research, just like you have this article!!
I know nothing of whether or not the Queen is black, yellow, red or grey, but I have read some of Izzy's other work, and I know she does her research, and I would rather beleive anything Izzy would say than the bull you are fed by the mainsream media, who (I might point out) have failed to mention the Treason or any of the national debate that is happening conserning the traitors - in your own best interest of course!!
They just keep feedin you really important stuff about whats happening on corrie, or what color socks will his highness be wearing for the wedding!!
Or giving you the real reason our troops are in Iraq, afganistan or anywhere else as far away from Britain as possible where they should be defending us from the political and economical invaders of the European Union, which is..............????
Well done Izzy, PLC Mart!!
Well done Merlin, you are correct, the queen was in Treetops when her father died, she was a frequent visitor there.. I had the opportunity to visit there several years ago..
But it just helps to backup Izzy's wonderful story about the queen being black..
I also have emigrated.. lol (So no tower for me either!)
When the old King Died it suddenly explained something that as a kid had previously baffled me.
"The King is Dead... Long live the King !"
What the F.....????
But in 1952 all was revelled.... “The King is Dead... Long Live the Queen....!”
OK Now I Got it ... DUH !!!
I knew it!!!
Queen Elizabeth II is Black: Favorite color is gold right? :D
Very interesting and something to look further into. Who would have guessed?
Nothing surprises me anymore. Everything that I have read about the Royals and their wandering or roving eye makes you realize that there is alot we do not know. I remember reading something about Jack the Ripper possibly being a royal too.
However claims have been made that Jack the Ripper wore a camel hair coat which back then was expensive and usually worn by someone of extreme wealth. Rumor has it that Victoria had a son before Edward that was not all there in the head and he was kept a secret... WHO KNOWS....
I love it....I hope it has some truth to it.LOL
certainly it was an interesting read!!!!
Great and nice ,first time, great love it
Funny stuff especially the photos
I don't think this 'black' story is true. The photos could have been made by a computer - it is not impossible nowadays. And they do not resemble of Queen Elisabeth II. at all. But what is true is that one of her great-great-grandmothers was a Hungarian countess from Transsilvania: Countess Claudine Rhédey von Kis-Rhéde. If you want more information, look it up in Wikipedia under her name.
This fact have been proven by Prince Charles visiting the graveyard of his ancestor several times in Transsylvania.
And one more thing: Hungarians are not black. That is for sure.
Regards,
Ibolya from Hungary
This is awesome! I needed a good laugh! Voted up and funny!
Read about Black Queen Charlotte under Google, make sure you type in black. The last picture of the Queen is over done, no amount of makeup could cover her skin that is that dark. She definitely has black family roots.
Somehow, someway they are related. So many white slave owners had affairs with black women.Other countries are not excluded No one knows who's done what...when.. and why...
Very interesting Hub.
We are very amused! I think its time the monarchy embraced its diversity....
Who knows maybe we are all related to the royals too... Its funny when they say Kate is a commoner yet they traced her blood line all the way back to were they discovered that Will and Kate were related... Hmmmm.
WOW. I would love to read a hub about your family history. Stories like that always fascinate me. Anyway check out some of the royal websites and you will find the story. The connection is way down the line but it shows that they are related along with the all the other royals that have married.
LOL.... PERFECT... Iz just change the names..... the area, time frames etc.... write it as a fiction!!!!
Nice. I would love it. Who by the way is Somerled to you? My ancestor is George Armstrong Custer. Which is nothing to brag about!
Iz: Dive in and create a hub about your ancestors that were daring, crazy, evil, fiesty etc.. Hell mine were all from England and I dare say they were booted out! Custer well... Hey as they say you can never pick your family! LOL...............
Absolutely... Creative Writing is fun.. You know I cannot self promote!
Absolutely!!! I like your style and would love to read about some of your blood line..... You have a knack for keeping your readers wanting more. I say let loose and go for it!
HAHA... Brilliant. Okay I am waiting to see what you come up with next. You know that we will go back and forth... Iz you are so cool...
Oh Izzy, have you been on the Spanish Talisker again!!
Talisker single malt made on the Isle of skye. Lovely whisky but makes me have have hallucinations, black seems white and visa versa, thought you might have been sneaking a wee dram of the Spanish version. lol
Hi, Izzy, I just came over to be nosy as I haven't visited in quite a while and what did I find? causing havoc again are we? lol well, you disappointed me, I thought the queen was Chinese! got that wrong it seems! lol this was hilarious, love the photos, but mock you I won't, because you never know.......! hee hee
Iz: As your lawyer you are NOT guilty!!!This is a great hub that has sparked many people... Hey Nell I thought she was Greek!!! Iz you are the best!!!
You certainly got everyone's attention. Now let's see who else you can make "one" small comment about and generate a massive ouytcry from the public..LOL.. I will be the first one to respond. LOL
Well lets start with say the President of the USA or Osama Bin Laden( OH that is a good one ) Like why after all these years would they kill him then throw his body in the sea??? Arnold Schwartz.. whatever... having a love child also called Patrick.. Hmmm maybe because Maria Shriver is a bitch? I have your back 100% and I will be the first to respond... Who else??? Maybe Queen Liz the 1st... Or Bloody Crabby Ass Mary..... Just a few ideas!
OH well that sucks.... Damn!!! LOL
Come on, contact lenses are not available during that time. ok? Oh, this is a non-fiction story. A great hub not to believe...
stupid
For a complete fantasy, that is quite entertaining.
Thanks for the laughs
If she was wearing white makeup, dont you think that at some period she would get streaked? After all she is a very public person, and I'm sure must have been caught out in the rain at some stage.
Besides if Her Majesty is black, how is it that none of her children or grandchildren show any signs of it also.
Perhaps they all wear "white makeup" as well?
Pull the other one. It,s got bells on it.
Very interesting hub, izzy. You never know who's swimming naked until the tide goes out.
Bloody brilliant...Very entertaining and informative hub. Your style is wonderful. Will take your story with a grain of sand and continue to probe for more answers. The thing about the net, if you search for something, you will find exactly what you are looking for. Thanks Izzy
Have you ever read about a person who was legally over the legal limit for alcohol? If you had then you would know how much I love this article. The person always believe he or she is sober. So, when a person or group is intoxicate with misinformation it hard to admit the truth even when its glaring.
I understand that she is the head of a group or oligarchy that calls itself the "Black Nobility"
The Queen of England and the Black Nobility
Hi IzzyM. For some reason I'm reminded of an old saying by Mark Twain, "Three people can keep a secret so long as two of them are dead."
@ Izzy: May be it was never the black queen with all that make up... It might have been some other white who imposted herself as the queen when there was a requirement for a public exposure... 'coz this wud hav been much easier back in 1930 rather than the extra ordinary make-up... :)))) who knows??
Please don't use the word 'fact' when writing this kind of rubbish, and try writing something funny without denigrating people.
"British Royal Family Shocker - Queen Elizabeth II is Black"
Just the headline alone defames the Queen and her family, and denigrates all black people. I disagree with you. The story is not in very good taste.
Sorry Izzy, I don't agree. Don't want to get into a slanging match with you. Respectfully, I don't think you have a problem, just bad taste. Oh, and secret orders... now that is funny.
Now here's another burning question: Does QE II write for The Onion under a nom de plume?
Queen ..lol
I thought I must still be super hung over when I saw the headline and pic ha ha. Enjoyed your hub IzzyM, very entertaining. Keep up the good work.
I don't think that the pictures are of Queen Elizabeth, especially the one with kinky hair. You can change anyone with the modern day computers and cameras. This is very cruel to say the least. We have in the US an author or authors who claim we had other presidents who had black roots. I did an article on them. I think that who ever took the pictures should have their names released. I've seen novice computer people put people in pictures when they weren't ever there?
I have one small quibble. The hub needs a disclaimer: Do not read if you've ever had a humorectomy.
This is a gem! It made my day! lol
This is a great hub, very interesting and comic! Why hide the black skin? Afterall, isnt black so beautiful? Its all in the perception!
cool hub! Voted up!
Just a view with perspective. No opinion, really. I am not "in on" royal secrets or personal facts.
But being only 6 and 2 years younger than the two British "Little Princesses", I grew up seeing their happy little faces and cute beings romping around on the palace grounds in the very unedited black and white RKO-Pathe News shown at every movie in the 1930s. They were big news quite frequently and I must say it would have taken a LOT of white-wash to have a black Elizabeth look like the little cameo-skinned tyke shown in a variety of physical positions.
I suppose it could have been a double. I wouldn't have known the difference. But every one of her life-long highlights has been plastered all over the periodicals and such news media as existed when they took place, ever since. Flawlessly WASP-looking child and woman in all cases, though perhaps fewer "candid" shots once she became the Queen. But then, not too many queens are ever photographed in awkward views.
Oh well. What difference does it really make? What she's done stands and what she hasn't done stands. I don't care for misrepresentation either - but the Hubs are full of it. If there was a royal coverup, it was due to people's prejudices - and of course - political policies of white supremacy. Throughout history those in power protect whatever basis they have for it, don't they?
I think I'll just focus on the humor of it. If this is the worst world-calamity we have to worry about, we're "home free"! As among the funniest, it is home free, as well.
I didn't feel indignant. Questioning, perhaps. Definitely not holding to any position whether it could or couldn't be true. I have no idea, though the black proposition is new to me. That the article has a humorous, subtle undertone is obvious, but that may or may not reflect the truth about the subject of it, right? There is no claim for or against it in your fascinating hub. ;->
god is a women
I stumbled on this and as a black woman I enjoyed reading it and laughed out loud at some of the comments. The one about the queen being Chinese, made me laugh in louder and i was enjoying reading all te comments until i came to Norm's comment about the queen being DENEGRATED because she was referred to as black and that other black people felt denegrated!!! I got so angry that i had to write in. What makes Norm think that because the article says the queen in black means she has been denegrated!! What a racist comment and I agree with Izzy - norm that was uncalled for!!! to suggest that the queen was denegrated means that you see all black people as beneath you....how dare you. We were all made in God's image and I am HIGHLY offended that you would regard the comment as the queen being black as denegrating her!! For your information I am an African of Royal descent and heaven alone knows what secrets all families hold. no one knows what secrets lie in the history of our Royal family here in Britain. We do know that there are relatives of the royal family who live in the UK leading normal lives as commonners - I should know - a company I used to work for helped care for one of just those distant relatives. You - Norm - do not know all your ancestors dating back to the time of Adam, so do not sit there and ruin what was an enjoyable read and enjoyable responses with your prejudice. PLEASE do not also (in trying to sound PC) say black people will see this as denegrating. I am black and I certainly did not see the article as denegrating!!! you are just a pompous racist who does probably have a black relative down in your history. Bottom line, we are all related anyway, because if you believe that we were all made in the image of god, then God cannot be the old white man witha white beard we see in pictures - he is an image of all of us. A great creator who created in variety. That is no leaf, or flower is the same (even from the same plant) - each is unique, and all beautiful. I guess you may get a shock when you get to heaven Norm and see God sitting on his throne and see what colour (s) He is and then what an interesting conversation you will have to have with him to explain why referring to the queen as black makes that a denegrating comment. i was enjoying all of this - tongue in cheek of course - as the queen is obviously white - but along came a racist to put a damper on things. Any way having said that - it will not surprise me if there was a black person in the royal family...this is not the first time stories like this keep coming up...the last time ...it was the queen mother who was black or had black in her. Anyway I have said my piece - i will now go back to reading (hopefully), more of the light hearted responses I was reading before Norm's depressing response came along. I am sure even if the royal family were to read this they too would have enjoyed reading many of the light hearted comments that have been posted here....no one likes a racist Norm and if you do not see yourself as one....then you really do have a problem. I do not know you but when you use comments like denegrating (in other words degrading), when referring to people being black - that tells me the opinion you must have of your fellow black colleagues/friends (if you have any)/co-workers/neighbours etc
Sorry – I need to clarify a comment I made in my afore mentioned Post a few minutes ago: When I mentioned that a Company I used to work for cared (and still cares for), a dear old distant relative of HRH her majesty the queen – I would not want this to have been miss-read or misunderstood – The lovely gentleman is white not black.
However the point I was making, was that we all have distant relatives and ancestors – of whom we know not of their walks of like or elk. It would not surprise me in the least if our British royal family have black relatives / ancestors that they know or do not know of.
After all just 20 years ago a member of the royal family married an African lady – which was all over the press here in England. It was no big deal – it probably would have been to Norm who sees a suggestion of the queen being black as derogatory!
Does that mean in a 100 years’ time someone suggests that a member of the Royal family married a black (Nigerian) lady, the Norms will come out and say it’s derogatory?!!! All Norm needs to do – now is go on the internet and search for recent mixed marriages in the royal family that we know of here in England. If it exists now…is it impossible for it to have existed centuries ago?!!!
It is sad that in 2011…things like this are still such a big deal to people like Norm?
My late adoptive father was white and he loved me (without seeing any colour) and loved Her Majesty. He would turn in his grave that a light hearted article about her majesty having my colour was denigrating!! He would be deeply saddened by Norm’s comments.
I loved my adoptive father as well (without seeing any colour). After all, he was the only father I knew - since I do not remember my biological father who was sadly was murdered when I was a toddler, by people, who wanted his wealth – which they made off with.
Izzy – keep up the good work – it’s entertaining – it is tongue in cheek. I am sure (unlike Norm) when the queen read this and all the hilarious comments; she would have smiled and taken this in her stride.
I love her majesty white or black - I do hope I meet her one day
That’s it…I’m done with my venting?
Thanks Izzy - I look forward to reading more of your articles. Have a lovely evening:)
A very entertaining and enjoyable hub. Maybe she will consider posing for a commemorative stamp!! A great read - thank you.
@IzzyM Come on. This hub is really great not to believe the ingeniousity of the author, that's YOU! It was really entertaining, and I came back to read once again.
I love the sense of fun in this hub it was a nice way to end my day thanks Izzy :D
She will never find us if she doesn't Izzy lol...
